Home Security

I'm thinking that home break-ins are less common than they used to be, for the following reasons:

  • Much wealth is electronic these days, and not accessible via a home invasion.  Jewelry, silver, and cash kept at home are much less percentage-wise compared to 50 years ago.
  • More and more people are utilizing porch cameras, motion detectors, and other electronics to monitor their homes and detect break-ins.
Desperate people still exist, but the odds that anyone can make a living at burglary over an extended period of time are greatly diminished.
